Deputy Governor, Andrey Korobka, spoke about the participation of Kuban wine producers in European events.
- Winemakers of the region have been participating in prestigious international competitions for many years. For them, this is a good opportunity not only to present their best products but also to exchange experience with colleagues and to study the trends of world winemaking, the Vice-Governor said.
Andrey Korobka added that in 2020, due to the restrictions associated with the pandemic, significantly fewer exhibition events were held around the world than before.
- Nevertheless, even in the small number of industry competitions that took place in London, Hong Kong, Vienna, Berlin, Brussels, and other cities, Kuban winemakers won 42 medals, among them 3 gold and 11 silver ones. There have already been several victories in 2021. We have already had 17 awards won in France and Germany, the Deputy Head of the region said.
In particular, in March, winemakers of the region presented their best products at Mundus Vini, an international tasting competition, which is held by Meininger Verlag, the famous German publishing house, twice a year. As a result, Fanagoriya received two medals. Abrau-Durso also became an active participant in this competition; it won 8 medals including «Best of show Russia!». Usadba Divnomorskoye won 3 medals, and Shumrinka won 2 awards, the press service of the regional administration reports.
