Veniamin Kondratyev: Small and medium-sized businesses in the Krasnodar Region grow almost 20% in five years

Currently, 317,000 small and medium-sized enterprises operate in the region. The governor informed the press of this matter.

«Small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of our economy. That is why the region implements a system comprising 210 support measures, with a total value exceeding 51 billion roubles. We assist businesses in developing and establishing new production facilities and create favourable conditions for start-ups and innovations. As a result, over the past five years, the number of small and medium-sized enterprises has grown by almost 20% and reached 317,000. Almost half of all working-age residents of the region, about 1.4 million people, are employed in this sector,» said Veniamin Kondratyev.

The revenue of small and medium-sized businesses in Kuban has shown a 1.8-fold increase over the past five years. Last year, it reached nearly 5 trillion roubles.

Of all economic entities in the Krasnodar Region, 86.3% are small and medium-sized businesses. The majority of these businesses are engaged in trade, transport, storage, construction, and real estate operations. There is also demand for professional, scientific, and technical services, including accounting, legal services, architecture, and engineering design. The manufacturing, hotel and catering, and agriculture sectors are also popular among small and medium-sized businesses in Kuban.
