Veniamin Kondratyev, Governor of the region, told journalists of RIA News about supplies of winery products abroad.
The Chief of the region underscored that over the last five years Krasnodar region has incremented wine exports by more than four times, from 84 thousand decalitres in 2015 up to 357 thousand decalitres in 2019.
– And this trend continues to gain momentum – since the beginning of the year alone our winegrowers shipped more than 128 thousand decalitres abroad – that is twice as higher as in the past year. We associate this growth with comfortable conditions for winegrowers which have shaped over the last years in Kuban, as well as public support and set-up of a solid legislative framework at the federal level in the industry we have been carefully dealing with, as commented by Veniamin Kondratyev.
The Governor also noted that wine from Krasnodar region is of demand among 20 countries, including China and European countries such as Germany, Estonia, Belgium and Switzerland. To simplify the entry to the European market for winegrowers, the region achieved the inclusion of the regional winery laboratories into the official list of the European Commission.
– Now Kuban producers might be able to obtain certificates not in Moscow but in Kuban. This substantially reduces the time resources and financial costs of exporters. Thus, we simplified the process of certification for winegrowers of Crimea too. They also use the services of our laboratories as concluded by the Chief of the region.
For the reminder, winery products are export-oriented products. According to the aims of the national project «International cooperation and export» in 2024 the region will have to increase its supplies up to 445 thousand decalitres for the total amount of 7.4 million dollars.
