Roskachestvo recognises Kuban sparkling wines as the best in Russia in 2025

In 2025, wines from the Krasnodar Region secured top positions in the ranking of Russia's best sparkling wines, compiled by experts from Roskachestvo's Wine Guide of Russia. This information was reported by the press service of the national system of product quality monitoring in the Russian Federation.

The Wine Guide of Russia is an annual study of wine production conducted by Roskachestvo in conjunction with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, and the Association of Grape Growers and Winemakers of Russia.

This year's ranking features 132 sparkling and champagne wines in two different categories: 84 wines produced in acratophore vessels (the Charmat method) and 48 wines made using the classical method of bottle aging, including the category «Russian champagne».

According to estimates by Roskachestvo experts, Russian sparkling wines account for more than 72% of total sales on the domestic market. Between January and October of 2025, Russia produced 146 million litres of sparkling wine, an 8.6% increase compared to the previous year.

According to the press service of the government of the Krasnodar Region, Kuban accounts for 46% of all Russian wine production and 50% of champagne made from its own grapes. Kuban wineries produced 232 million litres of still and sparkling wines. During the first nine months of 2025, they produced 180 million litres, which is an 8.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. It is noteworthy that the Temryuksky District is responsible for nearly 70% of the grape harvest and 63% of the wine production in the region.
